Biografia
Cantautore romano, Odawin prova a sopravvivere nella capitale italiana con della musica dal respiro internazionale, aggiungendo elementi di musica psichedelica e araba nei suoi lavori.
Dal 2016 al 2020 è stato frontman della band Taprobana, di cui ha scritto quasi tutti i brani da loro pubblicati, incluso l’EP Dawn, pubblicato poi su BandCamp.
Dopo la pandemia, ha pubblicato con Wires Records il suo primo EP solista, The Untitled EP, iniziando a scrivere e pubblicare un brano al mese fino all’inizio del 2024.
Molto affascinato dalle sonorità di fine anni ’60 della musica psichedelica e aperto alla musica alternativa contemporanea, unisce queste alla musica classica, elaborando un suono tutto suo.
Attualmente è al lavoro sul suo nuovo EP, Cantrips, prodotto da Marco Fasolo dei Jennifer Gentle.
TematicheI testi dei brani affrontano gli argomenti più disparati: si va da temi tratti da film, come Fields Of Pelennor, Ju Dou e Knight Of Cups, a brani che raccontano vicende personali come Beliefs , December ’18 e A Shelter.
Non mancano brani di vecchia scuola psichedelica come Gigaspace.exe, di stampo space rock, ed Everything, tratta da un passo dei Veda indiani.
Tutti brani che ruotano intorno al pianoforte, strumento da cui nascono e si sviluppano gli arrangiamenti, affidati spesso anche ad altri strumenti.

Biography
Rome-based singer-songwriter, Odawin tries to survive in the Italian capital city with international flavour in his music, adding psychedelic and Arabic sounds into his works.
From 2016 to 2020 he worked with the Italian rock band Taprobana and released Dawn EP on Bandcamp.
After the pandemic, he released his first EP, The Untitled EP, with Wires Records and began composing a new song every month up to the start of 2024.
So fascinated by strange and psychedelic rock sounds of the ’60s, open-minded to alternative music, he connects these to classical music, rafting his peculiar sound.
He is working on a new EP, Cantrips, produced by Jennifer Gentle’s Marco Fasolo.
Themes
From movies’ settings like Fields Of Pellenor, Ju Dou and Mallick’s Knight Of Cups, he writes his lyrics about personal life too: theme of love in Beliefs and nostalgia in December ’18.
There is no lack of significant homage to space rock’s Barrett (Gigaspace.exe) and to religious text originating in ancient India Vedas (Everything). Usually his music is based on a piano, with which he also make all the arrangiaments.
