Sospeso tra le trame sottili di un pop elettro-acustico di matrice intima e intensa, il mondo sonoro dei Kiddycar oscilla fra i colori caldi del pop e le ombre enigmatiche di un rock siderale – dotato di una drammaticit\u00e0 che pure tende sempre a scivolate morbide e curiosamente leggere in bilico tra melodie aeree e dondolanti e venature dark – fra testi esistenziali ora nichilisti ora infantilmente spalancati su immagini aurorali dove la vita si risveglia.

Febbraio e Marzo 2007<\/p>\n

<\/strong>Radiounomusica propone i Kiddycar tra gli artisti che considera il meglio delle sue scelte di musica italiana, dal pop, al rock, al soul e al jazz, sul player online del sito Eurosonic.net. Eurosonic \u00e8 un organismo che fa parte dell’EBU, Unione delle radio pubbliche europee di cui Radio1 \u00e8 parte attiva.<\/p>\n

Venerd\u00ec 7 Marzo, i Kiddycar sono ufficialmente invitati dalla Rai a tenere un concerto nell\u2019ambito dei concerti del Venerdi sera della Rai, in diretta dell\u2019auditorium della sala A del Centro Rai di Via Asiago a Roma.<\/p>\n

Nell\u2019occasione i Kiddycar debuttano con una nuova formazione arricchita da un trio di archi: Andrea Cortesi e Gloria Ferdinandi (I e II violino), Paco Mengozzi (violoncello).
\nIl debutto di questa formazione apre le porte a nuove possibilit\u00e0 espressive e fa da premessa ad una collaborazione feconda e duratura tra il nucleo dei Kiddycar e il trio ad essi unitosi.<\/p>\n

In seguito alla presentazione dei kiddycar fatta dalla Rai all\u2019Europa sul sito Eurosonic.net i Kiddycar cominciano ora a proporre e presentare il loro live oltre le frontiere del proprio paese e, come prima tappa, nel mese di Aprile, i Kiddycar (nell\u2019occasione insieme a Christian Rainer) si esibiranno in Romania con un concerto organizzato nella capitale rumena dall\u2019Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Bucarest.<\/p>\n

<\/strong>Kiddycar \u00e8 lo sguardo del fanciullo che si posa sulla musica. \u00c8 l’atteggiamento scanzonato e innocente di quattro musicisti italiani che da una cultura varia, eterogenea e poliedrica sintetizzano un suono nuovo, suadente e delicato, elettronico e acustico al tempo stesso. \u00c8 un progetto che guarda alla sperimentazione, all’avanguardia e alla musica classica, nel sottile equilibrio delle esperienze di quattro anime colte e curiose. \u2013 MTV (Che ha dedicato loro per due settimane la rubrica \u201cScommettiamo Su\u201d)<\/p>\n

L\u2019elettronica \u00e8 amministrata con cura, mai semplice sostegno per gli arrangiamenti e mai puramente colore strumentale, la scrittura pop intriga e si rende accattivante, sfociando talvolta nella canzone d\u2019autore. …un bel disco, ben suonato e ben prodotto. Le parti acustiche si abbinano con eleganza a quelle elettroniche creando un sound che se da una parte \u00e8 caratterizzato dagli spigolosi toni tipici dell’elettronica, dall’altro viene smussato dalla delicatezza acustica che dona all’album atmosfere dolci e sussurrate, sempre cariche di drammaticit\u00e0 e di un intensit\u00e0 emotiva che difficilmente si affievolisce durante l’ascolto. Innegabile l\u2019abilit\u00e0 che si esprime attraverso molti livelli e molte strategie a tratti riconoscibili del pop anglosassone degli ultimi dieci anni, ma che si libera da qualsiasi definizione superficiale, grazie ad un notevole potere di sintesi e ad un\u2019attitudine di tipo orchestrale davvero molto rara.

E’ neve sporca quella che cade copiosa nota dopo nota, ovattando e (de)stabilizzando i nostri (in)sicuri approdi dell’anima. E’ il bianco e nero della vita, \u00e8 la consapevolezza nel comprendere che la\u00a0Human Logic<\/em>\u00a0“…is wrong…”. \u2013 ROCKSHOCK<\/p>\n

\u201cForget About\u201d \u00e8 la sintesi stilistica di un gruppo fortemente coeso, sicuro, che respira e restituisce classe cristallina. \u2013 KRONIC<\/p>\n

Il loro spirito \u00e8 pop, ma il loro pregio \u00e8 quello di riuscire a non banalizzarlo mai.<\/p>\n

Il tratto comune che unisce e regge lo scorrere dei brani \u00e8 la voce della Cidda, anzi il suo cantato: una voce delicata, novembrina, impreziosita da una lieve velatura che non la rende del tutto limpida e che emerge nei brani pi\u00f9 sussurrati come \u201cCan i have your desert please?\u201d ma soprattutto \u201cAme et peau\u201d, sensuale e riflessiva perla esistenzialista del disco. \u2013 MESCALINA<\/p>\n

Colonna sonora ufficiale dell\u2019autunno che si avvicina\u2026 – SENTIREASCOLTARE<\/p>\n

Forget About \u00e8 un\u2019opera prima consistente e moderna ..i Kiddycar sono una band da ascoltare e Forget About un lavoro che con garbo e intelligenza si guadagna un posto in prima file tra le nuove produzioni. \u2013 MUSICBOOM<\/p>\n

Le soluzioni che la band adotta per gli arrangiamenti delle proprie ballate, vagamente inquietanti e deviate, li avvicinano spesso a realt\u00e0 della musica continentale quali M\u00fam, B. Fleischmann (cos\u00ec come a tutto il versante pi\u00f9 sconsolato e cupo della Morr Music), ed, a tratti, al trip hop pi\u00f9 umorale. \u2013 ONDAROCK<\/p>\n

La musica che esce fuori da questo\u00a0Forget About<\/strong><\/em>\u00e8 l\u2019intima colonna sonora di un sogno metropolitano sepolto di petali bagnati di rugiada, \u00e8 il tuo sguardo fuori dal finestrino, mentre cerchi di convincerti che il mondo un po\u2019 ti somiglia, prima di rassegnarti che non lo fa quasi mai. La voce di Valentina \u00e8 sempre dimessa, magicamente soffusa, monocorde, un ultimo soffio ad appannarsi sul vetro che ci separa dal mondo\u2026- LOSTHIGHWAYS<\/p>\n

Fiori che tappezzano tunnel. Viaggi su automobili a pedali, colorando di leggerezza, e piccoli dettagli a dare senso a un’esistenza altrimenti assurda. Acustica ed elettronica insieme e sottovoce. Con l’avanzare microfilmico di rarefatte basi lunari. E’ tanto discreto se si ascolta sbadatamente quanto intimo ed osmotico se si abbassano le barriere e si allungano gli sguardi. \u2013 ROCKIT<\/p>\n

HANNO DETTO DEI KIDDYCAR:<\/p>\n

Su \u201cHOW THIS WORD RESOUNDS\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/strong>Ogni traccia dipinge un paesaggio e racconta una storia, senza mai alzare la voce o graffiare la tela, alternando momenti di buio a squarci di luce, tenerezza e gioia a inquietudine. Ottimo come l\u2019esordio di \u201cForget About\u201d, conferma i giudizi critici raccolti, lascia ben sperare per le prossime uscite di questa band
\nMUSIC BOOM<\/p>\n

Le voci di Christian Rainer e Valentina Cidda brigano intriganti complementarit\u00e0, proprio come l’impasto di chitarre e tastierine, ottoni e pianoforte, elettroniche fugaci e percussioni frugali. Cinguettii e cigolii tra chitarre che ruggiscono una solitudine rugginosa, come provenissero dal cuore dell’ultimo romantico sulla faccia della terra. Un piccolo, grande disco. \u2013 SENTIRE ASCOLTARE<\/p>\n

Il regalo di Natale di un artista internazionale e degli aretini Kiddycar che ancora una volta si distinguono per sensibilit\u00e0 e scelte musicali, dopo la bella prova di “Forget About” per quella misurata alchimia di passioni soffuse che in ogni traccia di “How This Word Resound” affiora.
\nUn disco indie pop importante? Direi meglio, diventa importante per chi l’ascolta, perch\u00e8 il piano portante, la voce calda e rauca di Rainer, quella dolce e bambina di Valentina Cidda passano per osmosi dal disco all’ascoltatore, come un odore sul cuscino di chi non dorme pi\u00f9 con te, ma \u00e8 come se fosse sempre presente. ROCKIT<\/p>\n

Due modi d\u2019intendere l\u2019arte musicale che si scambiano esperienze e punti di vista, fondendosi in maniera rimarchevole in quello che sar\u00e0 uno dei primi titoli dell\u2019anno d\u2019annotare sulla lista dei migliori: il gioiellino\u00a0How This Word Resounds<\/em>. Canzoni avvolte da un soffice rivestimento di vellutata sapienza, che vivono su incantevoli duetti \u2013 in francese e in inglese – capaci d\u2019esprimere gioia (Birthday Song<\/em>), fatalismo (Elsewhere<\/em>) e incredibile intimit\u00e0 (Le temps de noircir<\/em>). ROCKSHOCK<\/p>\n

Ombre sul muro, di dolcezze proiettate in prospettiva da una candela accesa mentre ricerco il suo tepore. E\u2019 il chiaroscuro dello stupore, in mattine di chiasso e nebbia, quella della solita disillusione, di un amore che lentamente sbiadisce e quasi muore in parole e gesti che si assomigliano. Note, sospiri, sussurri e lacrime leggere, sorrisi e tiepidi desideri raccontati con eleganza, compostezza e dolcezza \u00e8 quanto fruisco da questo\u00a0How this Word Resounds.<\/strong><\/em>L\u2019incontro tra questi due universi sonori affini, quello nostalgico, agrodolce, impressionista e lagunare dei Kiddycar e quello autunnale, crepuscolare e cameristico del poliedrico Christian Rainer, d\u00e0 vita ad un lavoro dalle tinte calde e avvolgenti, seppur soffusissime come la luce fioca di una lampara d\u2019inverno ed a met\u00e0 tra sogno e malinconia, tra timore e disincanto. Solo otto brani a fare da confine a questo gioiello di ispirazione e arrangiamento, conteso tra pop e piccoli inserti elettronici, tra oscuro intimismo cantautorale e melodismo da chansonniers e che rimane tra i lavori pi\u00f9 intimi e emozionanti della passata stagione. FORGET ABOUT<\/em><\/strong>
\nKiddycar is a child\u2019s gaze that has settled on music. It is the innocent, easy-going approach of four Italian musicians who take varied, heterogeneous and versatile backgrounds and synthesize them into a new sound that is simultaneously inviting and delicate, electronic and acoustic. It is an approach focused on experimentation, on avant-garde and classical music, on the subtle balance of the experiences of four educated and curious minds. <\/em>Floating somewhere between Kazu Machine of the\u00a0Misery is a Butterfly<\/em>\u00a0period,\u00a0Dummy<\/em>\u00a0by Beth Gibbons of Portishead, and Louise Rhodes of Lamb, but Valentina Cidda\u2019s voice has nothing to fear from these Nineties recordings. \u2013 RUMORE (October 2007)<\/p>\n

The well-orchestrated romanticism of\u00a0Time<\/em>\u00a0would be enough to convince even sceptics about the quality of Kiddycar\u2019s music. A personal sound that knows how to take in equal measure from the Arctic melancholy of Mum, Maximilian Hecker\u2019s self-written, heart-rending work, and the timeless pop of Serge Gainsbourg. \u2013 ROCKERILLA (October 2007)<\/p>\n

The electronics are carefully administered, never a simple support for the arrangements and never solely instrumental colour, the pop vein intrigues and captivates, at times breaking out in these original songs by the group… a fine disc, well played and well produced. The acoustic parts elegantly partner the electronics, creating a sound that if on the one hand is characterized by the angular tones of electronic music, on the other is softened by the delicate acoustic that gives the disc an atmosphere of whispered sweetness, but always dramatically charged and loaded with an emotional intensity that rarely fades while listening. \u2013 ROCKLINE<\/p>\n

An undeniable ability that is expressed on many levels and through many strategies, at times reminiscent of Anglo-Saxon pop over the last decade, but which frees itself of any superficial definition due to a noteworthy power of synthesis and an ability in terms of orchestration that is certainly very rare. \u2013 INDIE-EYE<\/p>\n

It\u2019s soiled snow and it falls heavily, note by note, muffling and (de)stabilizing our soul\u2019s (un)certain point of arrival. It\u2019s the black and white of life, it\u2019s the awareness that\u00a0Human Logic<\/em>\u201c…is wrong…\u201d. \u2013 ROCKSHOCK<\/p>\n

Forget About<\/em>\u00a0is the stylistic synthesis of a strongly cohesive and self-assured group, one that breathes and restores crystalline class. \u2013 KRONIC<\/p>\n

Their spirit is pop, but their gift is never to make it banal. The common trait that unites and sustains the way the tracks flow is Cidda\u2019s voice, or rather her way of singing: a delicate voice, November-like, enhanced by a slight veiled softness that coats its clarity and which emerges in the more whispered tracks like\u00a0Can I have your desert please?\u00a0<\/em>but especially in\u00a0Ame et peau<\/em>, the sensual and reflective existential pearl of the disc. \u2013 MESCALINA<\/p>\n
