Electric dreaming, shoe-gazing, alternative-radio friendly, rolling celestial (new) waves, Sleepy Cat is the first single<\/strong> taken from SOFSKY’s eponymous debut album<\/strong>, and will be available on digital platforms from Friday, February 18, 2022<\/strong>.
\nThe album will be out on March 25, 2022, published by Seahorse Recordings<\/a> (cd, digital).

Download EPK<\/a>\n\n \n\n\nBased\n in Lugano, Switzerland, Sofsky is a five-piece combo featuring a line \nup of musicians who own extensive past musical experiences. Stefano \nChiassai (guitars) and Giona Mattei (bass), used to play with \nthe post-rock band KOVLO, which played several tours in mainland Europe,\n and even travelled to China; Flavio Calaon (keys) was a member of the \nduo Shindo, previously of Flanard, and also a soloist; Dimitri A. \n(drums) is an eclectic figure into radically different music styles, \nranging from vintage goth to vintage rock’n’roll, and also a producer \nfor avantgarde Swiss jazz; Nick Poretti (vocals) was a former member of \nthe nu-prog band Plain, and is known for his collaborations with, among \nothers, Re-count and Stendeck.  \n\n
\nSOFSKY was\n born as a unique blend of all those experiences and \ntastes, shifting comfortably from contemporary sound production to the \nsonic landscapes of past decades: early Pink Floyds’s psychedelia, ’80s \npost-punk (The Smiths, Joy Division), classic shoegaze (Slowdive, MBV), \nand of course the post-rock influences already heard in Klovo (Mogwai, \nSigur Ros).
\n \n\nAfter releasing 3 digital singles – now enclosed as album’s bonus tracks – Sofsky recorded seven brand new songs at Laboratorio sperimentazione Sonora Nit\u00f6n, Barasso (VA, Italy), with Luca Martegani\n and Enrico Mangione taking production and mixing duties. Mastering was \nin charge of Tony Cousins at Metropolis Studios in London. \n\n\n
\nThis collection of songs is going to impress and charm with its wide soundscapes, an endless garden of sounds
\nand lyrics where thoughts are free to roam, exploring the many facets of emotions and existence, with their myriad of shades between black and white.
